About Shinkolite Roof
Shinkolite premium transparent acrylic roof is developed under the cooperation between SCG Chemicals and Mitsubishi Rayon Japan. There are 2 grades of general and heat cut to answer the residents’ preference in accordance to the true new lifestyle living. Due to a transparent material, residents will feel as if they live close to nature. Moreover, it provides comfort thanks to its special protection feature from the sun’s radiant heat by blocking 50 % of Infrared or about 5 degrees * in heat cut grade.

Installation Guideline
Roof Structure Preparation
Check the roof structure including rafters and purlins. They should be in the same plane and have the spacing as recommended below.
Shinkolite Acrylic Roof Installation
Material Characteristic
1. Because the material is plastic, it could be wavy when compared to glass.
2. The noise from the expansion and contraction of the sheet is the nature of the material.
Recommendation
Usage General Recommendation
1. The structure should be tilted for at least 5 degree for better water flow as shown below.
2. To prolong the life of the acrylic sheets, avoid installing in the area with heat of more than 70 degree Celsius or near flame such as stove, field stove, etc.
3. The eave should not be extended more than 10 centimeters from the steel structure and adjust the left/right rafters according to the eave.
4. Only install the ShinkoLite acrylic sheets in an open area (at least open in 2 sides) such as awning, walkway roof, car park, terrace, etc.
Storage of Acrylic Sheets before Installation
1. Acrylic sheets should be stored on a pallet or shelf high form the floor to prevent exposure to the moisture from the floor.
2. Acrylic sheets should be stored in a dry place and away from sunlight for a longer lifespan after installation.
Cautions
1. Avoid stepping on the acrylic sheet without a structural support underneath for the safety of the user and damage prevention.
2. Do not use installation equipment which made from PVC to attach with ShinkoLite sheet at all time (such as rubber flashing, glue tape, etc.) to prevent damage that may occur to the sheet (cracking).
3. Be careful of sharp edges or corners of the sheets. For safety and beauty purposes, flashing should be installed to cover the edges of the acrylic sheets.
